“Record breaker Jonathan Trappe soars over the White Cliffs of Dover yesterday – in an office chair dangling from multi-coloured helium balloons. When he landed in a cabbage field in France four hours later, the daredevil “cluster balloonist” became the first person to cross the 22-mile Channel using that bizarre form of transport. At first Jonathan, 36, was questioned by a couple of bemused gendarmes near Dunkirk. But he convinced them he had all the correct documents. His feat was reminiscent of the hit animated film Up, which saw a grumpy pensioner attach balloons to his house and fly off to South America.” click through.
